Having been a Nurse Manager for a large hospital system in Chicago, I can add another few good recommendations to help you get that travel nursing job you want:

1. First, be sure to be enthusiastic and eager on the phone. I know we sometimes call when your sleeping, but nothing gets an interview off wrong then when the sleeping nurse talks into the pillow and asks you to repeat all your questions three or more times.

2. Midwestern folks like friendly warm conversation, we want to hire people that will care for our patients with a great bedside manner and give it their own special personal touch. Be sure to let the Manager hear the compassion and caring nature in your answers.

3. And yes, Please be ready and answer our calls when we take the time to reach you! We have at times a stack of potential candidates, we often stop without getting to the bottom of the pile when we find that experienced and eager traveler speaking to us on the other end of the line.

4. And besides asking directly for the job, be sure to say thank you! (simple, but it makes a great lasting impression - we know you are the type of nurse we want to work with)

Hang in there, RNS can be the most important to patient care, we know that: Nurses ARE THE BEST MEDICINE.</description>
